Question. 01. What is Control Unit (CU)?

Answer. The process of input, output, processing and storage is performed under the supervision of Control unit.

 It decides when to start receiving data, when to stop it, where to store data etc.

Question. 02. Briefly describe about computer organization.

Answer. The computer performs basically 5 major operations of functions irrespective of their size and make. These are (i) It accepts data or instructions by way of input. (ii) It stores data. (iii) It can process data as required by the user. (iv) It gives results in the form of output (v) It controls all operations inside a computer.

Question. 03. Explain how you will create a data source using the mail merge helper during the mail merge process.

Answer. You can use the mail merge wizard to create a MS-Word, MS-Excel or Access database data source.

 Follow the given steps as mentioned below:

  1. Create the main document or open existing document. II. Select “Type a new list” from the “Select Recipients” dialog box. Then select “Create” option. III. A dialog box appears to create a list with new set of data. IV. You can start entering data to the respective fields. V. When you finish specifying the required data fields. Click “Ok”. The “Save As” dialog box appears. VI. Locate the folder that you want to save the data source in, type a file name and then click “Sava As” dialog box.

Question.01. What are the two ways in which a positive attitude can improve our daily lives?

Answer.  ● A positive attitude enables us to approach challenges with optimism, find solutions to problems, and maintain a healthy mindset.

  • It helps us overcome obstacles and build resilience.

Question.02. Write three aspects of a house that help in maintaining hygiene.

Answer.  i. Light: Proper lighting is important to perform various activities in the house. Sunlight kills germs and removes dampness. Insects cannot thrive in light.  ii. Ventilation: Ventilation helps to circulate fresh air and drives out foul air. It helps to remove smoke, bad smells, moisture and fumes.  iii. Sanitation: Clean surroundings keep insects and germs away. It ensures there is no dust, cobwebs and all surfaces get disinfected.

Question. 01. Describe “Hamsa Damayanti” painting.

Answer. “Hamsa Damayanti”(1899) is a famous painting by Raja Ravi Varma depicting the mythical tale of Damayanti and the swan (Hamsa) from the Indian epic Mahabharata, showcasing Varma’s mastery of realism and rich colours.

Question. 02. Where are ‘Ajanta’ caves located, describe the paintings.

Answer. The Ajanta Caves are in the state of Maharashtra, India. These ancient Buddhist rock-cut caves date back to the 2nd century BCE to the 7th century CE. They are renowned for their exquisite murals and sculptures, which depict Buddhist themes and narratives. The caves are a World Heritage Site and a significant cultural and historical treasure portrays the rich artistic activity of the time. “Padmapani bodhisattva” is one such example of frescos done at Ajanta.

Question. 01. What is galvanization? Why it is done?

Answer. Galvanisation is a process of depositing a thin layer of zinc metal on iron objects. This is done to prevent rusting of iron by protecting it to come in contact with air and moisture. Zinc metal, being more reactive, reacts with air to form hard layer of zinc oxide, which prevents air from passing through it.
